conquered: transition metals. group2. group 7. organic chem ( alkanes. alkenes. benzene. alcohol. phenol. carbonyl cmpds.)

recap:

group 2.

1. BeCl2 is more volatile than MgCl2 due to its simple molecular structure and covalent character, caused by the small size of Be that contributes to the high charge density. BeO is amphoteric.

2. group 2 elements are gd reducing agents. down the grp, reducing poer increases. (same as oxidising power decreases, this is for grp 7.)

3. MgO disslove v slighty in water. BeO has no rxn w water.

4. thermal stability increases down e grp. ( down e grp, ionic size increases, charge density decreases, polarising power decreases, distortion of electron cloud decreases, stability increases.)

group 7.

1. solubility in organic slovent decreases down e grp. solubility of I is greatly enhanced by excess I- present, producing I3-, which is soluble.

2. F is most reactive n most powerful oxidising agent. WHY?
- F-F bond is of low energy level due to repulsion of non-bonding electrons. ezier to break, lower Ea.
- covalent bond formed btwn F and other elements are v strong due to small size of F.

correct me if im wrong. ha. gona do badly for section C-inorganic. periodic table.. tm.. grp 2 n 7.. all nd memorising work.. if oli i can use 4% of my brain. (normal ple use 3% of their brain if u duno)

tml gona be a marathon again. looking forward to thurs. beach time! =)

if i continue to stay at home evydae.. guess i'll start growing horizontally.
went to have a stroll ard e neighbourhood todae, cz i feel fat at home. ha. realised tt it has changed q alt. was q peaceful.. tot tru alt of thgs.. in fact realised tt i've been toking to God truout. =)
